From Villa Angel in La Gaude, everything you need during your stay is a few minutes away by car: a supermarket 3 minutes away, a bakery 7 minutes away, and excellent restaurants from the village down to the seafront. Here are the places we recommend to our guests.
Grocery shopping
- Carrefour Contact, route de Cagnes-sur-Mer, La Gaude, 3 minutes away. Monday to Saturday 8am–8pm, Sunday 9am–1pm. Handy for everyday shopping, with a butcher’s counter.
- Intermarché, 862 route de Saint-Laurent, La Gaude, 10 minutes away. Monday to Saturday 8:30am–7:30pm, Sunday 9am–12:30pm. The widest choice for a big shop when you arrive.
For a large shopping centre, Cap 3000 in Saint-Laurent-du-Var is 15 minutes away: it is the largest on the French Riviera.
Bakery, cheese shop and market
- Aux Délices de La Gaude, 6 allée Hector Pintus, 7 minutes away: bread and pastries for breakfast on the terrace. Open every day except Monday.
- La Fromagerie du Peyron, in Saint-Jeannet, 12 minutes away: a fine selection of cheeses, Tuesday to Saturday.
- Vence market, place du Grand Jardin, 15 minutes away: fruit, vegetables and local produce on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
Opening hours are given as a guide: they may change with the season and on public holidays.

In La Gaude
- La Guinguette Gaudoise: homemade ravioli and a terrace in the heart of the village. For us, the best ravioli on the Riviera. Bookings: +33 4 93 24 42 07.
- La Mirabelle: outstanding value for money.
In Vence, 10 minutes away
- Le Vieux Four: Provençal cuisine in the old town. Booking recommended.
- Wine Bar: for a drink before or after dinner.
By the sea, 15–20 minutes away
- Leedy’s, on Saint-Laurent-du-Var harbour: fish and a lovely setting on the port. +33 4 93 89 64 81.
- Casagala, on the same harbour: good food at reasonable prices.
- La Cabane, in Villeneuve-Loubet: almost on the water, with a tropical feel facing the Mediterranean. +33 4 93 07 07 70.
- Santa Lucia, Villeneuve-Loubet marina: our favourite pizzas. +33 4 93 73 10 10.
- Taj Mahal Marina, Villeneuve-Loubet marina: Indian cuisine.
In Nice, 20–25 minutes away
- La Voglia, in Old Nice: a safe bet.
- Le Paradis Marin: fresh fish at affordable prices.
- Le Syracuse: on the seafront, for dinner or a drink.
- Indian Lounge, in Old Nice: Indian cuisine.
- Mini-Thaï: Thai flavours, also to take away.
Or a quiet dinner at the villa
Many of our guests end up preferring evenings at the villa: the kitchen is fully equipped (oven, dishwasher, Nespresso, raclette set), and the pool house has an outdoor kitchen and a barbecue next to the pool. A trip to Vence market in the morning, dinner at sunset on the terrace facing the Baous in the evening.
Getting around without a car
- Taxi and private driver: ZAL Chauffeur, available 24/7 for airport transfers, restaurants and outings, on +33 7 65 88 06 06. Mention that you are calling from Villa Angel in La Gaude.
- Bus line 55 (Lignes d’Azur): the « La Pompe » stop, at the end of the line, is a 5-minute walk from the villa. It serves Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Cap 3000. First departure 6:40am Monday to Saturday (7:15am on Sunday), last departure 6:55pm, every 35 to 85 minutes.
To make the most of the area, a car is still recommended. The villa has secure private parking for 2 cars inside the gated property.
